What pops up to mind when you hear “VIIR?” You might think, “oh, it could be the long-awaited Final Fantasy VII Remake.” But surprise! It isn’t. It’s actually Megadimension Neptunia VIIR – but this time you get to be with your console goddess up close and personal, but would you want to?

“I’ve been waiting for this,” – a line made famous by Akihiko Sanada in Persona 3. His words rang true to my head when ATLUS announced Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight a year ago. “Finally,” I said to myself, the Persona game with the best music will take center stage. But will SEES get a standing ovation?

Sometimes you should take a break from the usual breakfast you have. While drowning Frosted Flakes with a glass of Yoo-Hoo Chocolate Milk is bliss, you can’t have that all the time. It’s good to have something like eggs or bacon for once. It’s the same deal with rhythm games. We all love to listen to J-Core all day every day, but your ears need something else from time to time. Pianista is that different tune we need. Instead of the tunes of DJ Groovy Hoshii, it is time for Claude Debussy to take center stage. But is it worth your time?
Note this is the mobile version review of Pianista, the Nintendo Switch version will come at a later date.

Sometimes you ask yourself while playing a video game, “why was this game made,” or “who is this game targeted towards?” I kept asking myself that while playing Moero Chronicle. Now I’m not dragging down people who enjoy this game, we all have our weird likes - but Moero Chronicle is…special.

If Shape of the World was an, open chill out session, then Anamorphine is its tonal complement. Taking place in a series of intimate, even claustrophobic spaces, it explores the emotional world of Tyler and Elena, a couple dealing with trauma and depression.
Anamorphine makes clear from the go it takes its subject matter very seriously. It opens with a content warning, giving players not only the option to skip the most upsetting scene, but also the option for a more detailed content warning containing spoilers for it. It’s an admirable approach that seems almost obvious in hindsight, and allows people to engage with the game on their own terms.
Which is good, since Anamorphine is a confident study in using space to communicate emotional states. There’s not a single spoken word in its entire run time. Instead it mixes the familiar with abstract, distorting otherwise everyday spaces into reflections of the characters’ mental worlds.

At one-point Bomberman was a franchise beloved by everyone. While it wasn’t as iconic as Mario or Sonic, everyone knew about the lovable bomber from Konami.
Nowadays it seemed like Bomberman had been relegated to the depths of video game history. Only the old and those who have an esoteric taste in video games know about the character and IP. However, Konami wants to change that outlook and decided to free up the bomber from their cellar.

Ridge Racer used to be a staple for hardware launches. If the new gamestation ultra cube came out, you better believe that a Ridge Racer title was on the horizon. As of late this tradition ended and what we once took for granted is no longer here. There was no Ridge Racer title for the PlayStation 4, Wii U or Nintendo Switch. All we had recently was a stripped-down Vita game and some questionable PC games.
So, let’s look back at the last traditional game we had in the series, Ridge Racer 3D for the Nintendo 3DS.

In the press email for DJMax RESPECT, it says “This really is like the “Dark Souls” of music games, so don’t be disheartened when at first you don’t succeed.”
The game is difficult, but I think it would be disheartening to compare it to Dark Souls. DJMax is its own thing, and it deserves more respect than a comparison.
