I’m going to take a break from taking about video games for a moment and discuss a favorite album of mine. It’s not the most popular album out there. Yet, it’s also not the most obscure. It’s the center of various internet jokes, and certain people will label it as “plebian baby’s first indie album”. But despite all of the mixed reactions to this album, it’s one of the few albums, where I can always go back and have a listen. And that album is, In the Aeroplane of the Sea (ITAOTS) by Neutral Milk Hotel. Now I’m not going to review this album tracks after tracks, but I will lay down my thoughts and personal anecdotes, one carrot flower at a time.

“Upside Down Mountain” is the new album Conor Oberst officially released May 19, 2014, has that sound that Oberst is known for, that jangle pop with 60’s folk revival Laurel Canyon sound (think Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Bob Dylan’s electric days or perhaps Jackson Browne or The Eagles); that mid 90’s Nebraskan sound that Oberst is known for.

It seems as though we think that we have seen everything that Damon Albarn can do, but this will erases all that preconception. This is unlike the “Blur” stuff, the “Gorillaz” stuff and his “The Good, the Bad and the Queen” stuff. This takes parts of all of those periods of his career and then some, then fusing them into one album.
