There’s something hollow about Grand Theft Auto V. Upon reaching the story’s conclusion, I found myself left with a sense of dissatisfaction. Even before that I found myself dropping it out of my rotation due to its inane story plotting and thinly justified set pieces. It continually frustrated with prescriptive mission design that led you through interesting moments in uninteresting ways.
The core mechanics have been polished to their finest: the driving dropped the heavy handling of GTA IV for an appropriately Hollywood presentation. The cover system was tightened, with elements from the excellent Max Payne 3 added into the shooting. All of that only served to highlight how staid the moment to moment play of Grand Theft Auto has been. Rockstar provided a world whose structure and mechanics fell apart by themselves. It’s also undoubtedly provided one of the best realized digital worlds ever made.

In which I both tell you why I find it difficult to pick my favorite games and what a few of them are.
“What kind of music do you listen to?” It’s a moment I keep remembering, a girl I had just been introduced trying to get an idea of my tastes. “What’s on of the bands you listen to?” I wanted to reply with Disasterpeace, but I knew that with him not being a commonly known artist she’d have no idea what it meant. "Radiohead, I guess.“
With that she gave me an "ok” and the conversation was over. I should have said Disasterpeace.

We here at Clickbliss have been a bit late jumping on the next-gen train. Speaking for myself, I’ve often found that new generations of hardware rarely hit their stride until at least a year into their life. Even now I don’t feel that developers have really made something that feels entirely impossible on the previous generation of hardware. With that said, due to a generous donation by Microsoft* the upcoming holidays I’ve decided to take the plunge regardless. We’ll be updating the site with some impressions of the games themselves, but for now here’s a run down of the hardware.

Space (Jam) Camp is a series about what happens you attempt to learn how to play one of the most complex sports games made without knowing anything about basketball.
A while ago I decided that I’m going to play a sports game. In an effort to have a broader knowledge of the medium, I’ve been expanding the scope of the games I’ve been playing, and reading up on games that I never intend to play. The NBA 2K series is one of the most popular, dominating the charts and being one of the few sports titles not crushing the opposition through Electronic Art’s near monopoly on the genre. (It’s also one of the most complex, with an insane amount of context sensitive Isomotion™ moves to pull off). So with that knowledge, I promptly went over to my local game store and picked up a copy of NBA2K11 (and a bullet hell SHMUP by Cave).

My taste could be either considered as generic hipster trash to some, while others might view my taste for the plebeians in their patrician eyes. Regardless of ones opinion, music is still music. You listen to a song to unwind at the end of the day. To have fun, or to have you thinking. And the following albums get that job done for me.

I’m proud to say that I enjoy listening to ABBA, The Bee Gees, Barry White and tons more. Here I am a proud Hard Rock fan, admitting my fondness to Disco, because what is Disco anyways but just a Funk-Latin fusion.
With anything there are always those elitist know-it-all’s who think they know better than you and think that they’re ambassadors for taste. So this his post really isn’t about my love for Disco, but rather my rant on elitism within musical genres.
