Every other week I will be showcasing one album and a video game that I feel everyone should check out in their spare time. Today, those two will be a In My G4 Over Da Sea by Neutral Bling Hotel and Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy

In My G4 Over Da Sea - Neutral Bling Hotel

How…..how can I describe this album? You take everyone’s favorite 90s folk band, Neutral Milk Hotel - led by Jeff Mangum, then mix it up with the likes of Kanye, Dorrough & Pitbull and you get a mash-up album that will leave you confused yet intrigued on how such a combination could happen. You will actually find yourself enjoying this album as you listen. Yes, I said it, you will enjoy this album. It’s a funny mash up that shouldn’t be taken seriously at all, but it’s good enough for some good ol’ post ironic enjoyment. By the end of the day after hearing the the voices of Cali Swag District being remixed into Oh Comely a dozen times, you might be transformed into another lil Jeff Swagnum.

  • Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy
  • Developer - Access Games
  • Publisher - Namco Bandai Games
  • Nintendo 3DS
  • Rating - T

It’s unfortunate that Namco decided to slap a tarnished name (Assault Horizon) on a wonderful remake of the PS1 classic, Ace Combat 2. Assualt Horizon Legacy, in my opinion, is one of the finest titles on the 3DS. Anyone who has never played an Ace Combat game before or is a long time fan of the franchise should have in their library. You actually want to keep the 3D effect on for this game as Namco has done a surprisingly good job with it. The frame rate is relatively smooth for the whole game and the details for the jets and the environment are decent for a handheld title. The skies may be turbulent for the Ace Combat series, but at least we can revisit wonderful past titles such as this - and on the go as well.
