For my recommendation this week it’s the 2013 album from Franz Ferdinand, Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Actions.
This album came out sometime August of last year and I reviewed it for another publication and said it was “ Overall a great album, packed with songs containing the best elements of the band, smart lyrics, the perfect blend of vocals, driven music and that tight drum sound” and yeah I think that’s still just about right, I still love this album. Anyways, yeah, Franz Ferdinand. This album brought some of my favorite songs from the band and from anyone for that matter. I sill catch myself quite regularly listening to some of those songs, songs like “Fresh Strawberries”, “Stand on the Horizon”, “Bullet!”, “Love Illumination” and “Goodbye Lovers and Friends”.

And as for my game recommendation, this one is a little harder to come by… It’s Rogue Trip: Vacation 2012. This vehicular combat game is an older game and the only way you’re really gonna be able to play it so buy a used copy on evilbay (eBay). I chose to recommend this game for two reasons, it’s damn fun if you’ve got someone to play with. And also I’ve had a long history with the game, played it a lot throughout the Playstation 1 days. But that’s another story.
Rogue Trip: Vacation 2012 is created by the same people who created the Twisted Metal series, and the similarities are endless. Though one big thing that is different with the two games are that Rogue Trip has “nicer” maps and by nicer i mean that the maps and locations are not apocalyptic like they are in Twisted Metal, they are just regular locations. Now that doesn’t really make a difference but that’s the biggest difference. And also that you have to capture a tourist and keep him as long as you want, the longest player to keep the tourists wins the session. Oh this game does have a soundtrack of one song, yes just one song. It;s does have themes for the loading scene and some story lines but for single player game play and multiplayer it’s just that one song. But I guess that’s just how it was in those days.
