Every other week I will be showcasing one album and a video game that I feel everyone should check out in their spare time. Today, those two will be a self titled album by Paul Baribeau and Let’s Fish! Hooked On

At first glance, you’d think that this album was sung by a homeless man that was given a guitar instead of pocket change. Many would be thrown off by his raspy voice, his guitar skills that he probably acquired from a back of a cereal box, but there is something beautiful beneath all of that. Within one night of writing out the lyrics, guitar tabs, and recording the whole album, he produced the most unique folk album one could ask for in our current times.

Yes, I’m recommending a fishing game. Why? It’s just one of those games where you are absolutely stunned of why it exists, yet you have the compelling urge to play it. I bought this game on day one out of a joke, but as I continued to play the game more and more, I was absolutely hooked on (no pun intended) with it. The story line was pure garbage and flat out ridiculous - yet I wanted to keep on going to see what will happen next. One of the characters if I recall, wanted to bring world peace through the the art of fishing. C’mon, like you don’t want to see how that plays out.
