The Momodora Diaries are a chronicle through Momodora Under the Moonlight.

I found the new way. A strange underwater prison area. Its real dark, and can only be illuminated but a small item. Seems like a mostly meaningless gimmick but does add to the atmosphere. There’s a weird use of the water to let you use infinite jumps for exploration. It leads to an interesting area with instant death spikes that require careful timing. I’m glad I have the air dash otherwise this would be a lot harder.

I don’t remember much about this area. I mostly ran through it, found the garden key and got around to the other side of that blocked wall. For some reason the block was gone entirely this time, I have no idea what triggered it.

I fought the big booby lady boss again and she turned me into a cat. It’s a cute way to give you the ability to get into small passages and I think I move a bit faster? It kind of draws attention to how awkward the button set up is though, since I need to switch items to use it. Just put it on a button, jeez. I don’t understand why games don’t use extra buttons when they have them.

Anyhow I finally have the four crests that allow me to get into an area previously blocked by a fog door. Felt kind of anticlimactic? Two were just there and only gave me the ability to further charge arrows, which I almost never use cause it’s still too slow even with the upgrade. One lets me warp to any save point which I would have appreciated a lot more an hour ago while I was helplessly lost. Barely useful now. I’m glad the map isn’t huge at least.

The final area seems immediately harder. Maybe it’s cause I unequipped one of the defensive items, but the first enemy does half my health in a single hit. Wow.

I mean I get having a squishy character but it feels ridiculous this late in the game. We’ll see how it shakes out I guess. I’ll just try to be more careful in the meantime.
