The Games We Played: THE iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls: Viewing Revolution

The Games We Played is a year-end round up of thoughts about games we spent time with.

I knew what I was getting into, but needed to experience it anyway.

When THE iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls: Viewing Revolution was announced I just had to experience it one way or another. The girls of 346 productions may be second-tier to their 765pro counterparts, but at the end of it all, I’m trash and anything im@s videogame related I’ll flock towards to.

However, there is no way in hell I was going to shell out big bucks for a PSVR headset just for one game. I poked around to see if anyone could lend me theirs for the weekend but no dice. At one point I even poked around the idea of making a gofundme so I could buy one, but that wouldn’t be ethically or morally correct despite some that site hosting some questionable fundraisers.

I finally got a hold of one through a co-worker’s friend’s cousin. I was excited, I was finally going to see Ranko, Rin and co. through the power of VIRTUAL REALITY.

Now I’ve read the reviews from fans and some reviewers and they weren’t pretty, but “what do they know?” I told myself.

I probably should if have listened to them.

Igorning the cash grab DLC practices that Namco implemented here, this game is nothing but a concert. I may be asking for much, but I wanted to do a tad bit more than just sit in the audience. I wanted to see the prep up before the concert. The motivation speech given to the idols by Producer-san. The famous “faito” line shouted by the idols before going up on stage. I wanted to see the idols be themselves before going out to the spotlight.

Instead, all you do is just wave your glowsticks.

Now excuse me I got to start prepping up for Stella Stage later this month.
