One year of clicks, one year of bliss.

105 articles, 4 writers, 1 year.

I’m not really sure how I got sucked into this. I’ve been wanting to make something about videogames and culture for a while I suppose. Two failed video channels, another Tumblr style collective, and six personal blogs later I’ve ended up here at clickbliss, organizing and directing this band of misfits. We’ve stumbled, having no idea where we were going at first, feeling out our voices and recording a lot of terrible podcasts that I’m glad we never published.

I became the ringleader purely by fact of experience and while I’ve seen a fair share of nonsense, it has been a lot of fun to work with friends and watch them grow as writers.

We don’t get a lot of interactions, but we’ve seen that people are coming here again and again, so we know that there’s a small, but growing, band of readers that continue to return to us for our writing. That’s kept us going. Know that we appreciate the little interactions, the small comments, bits of encouragement, and the shared jokes. Writing here has let us show our appreciate for the things we love, and you’ve been there to see it.

So thank you. With your support I hope that we can continue to grow and bring you more voices and stories.

Videogames and music. Two mediums that brought a small of friends together at a coffee shop in the suburbs of Chicago to discuss what they love. They decided they wanted to share their love of those two mediums to the world, through their points of view. They didn’t know what to expect.

They went to contact various publishers in the industry. Some embraced them, some ignored them, and some even blacklisted them.

The original look of the site made MySpace profile pages circa 2006 look like the Mona Lisa.

They recommended albums sung by a homeless man. Recommended games that were probably fresh out of MS Paint. Mostly due to their post ironic sense of humor.

But people still wanted to hear their opinions.

One year later, they still don’t know what they are doing, but they are enjoying every minute of it.

I personally would like to thank current clickbliss staff and staff alumni

Omar, Kevin, Paul, John, Gus, Dave, Fredrico, and Drew.

But most of all, I want to thank you - the reader. Thank you for reading and (hopefully) appreciating the material we place out. Despite the shill jokes, we aren’t getting paid for this at all, we are doing this because we love videogames and music. We want to share our love for those two through a personal perspective with you.
