There’s A Little Bit Of Magic… And Jenny Lewis has it.

Beautiful, catchy, dreamy… those are just some of the uber cliche words one might describe this new album from the goddess that is Jenny Lewis, The Voyager, her third solo album released on July 29, 2014.

This album, (her first in 6 years) is damn good… it’s out of this world, it’s witchcraft. I make it a point to listen to every album I get straight through at least once, but for The Voyager I found the I actually listened to it straight through four times. The first being the advance playthrough on NPR a few days ago.

Why I love Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed

I’m a SEGA kid. Despite never having owned a Genesis (or even played an actual unit in the flesh), SEGA’s catalog of esoteric characters and arcade legacy built itself a home in my heart. Because of that, the original Sega All Stars Racing, with its litany of references to classic SEGA franchises proved to be an unexpected joy from me. It helped that it was a decent (if absurdly unbalanced) racer as well.

All Stars Transformed proves to be an equally joyous celebration, while also sharpening up the racing mechanics and adding transforming vehicles to the mix. Yes, as the race goes on paths will change with events in the stage, adding an element of dynamism to the tracks.

In an ongoing show of hipster one-upmanship, I’ve elected to force yet another top albums list upon you, dear reader. Except this time I can’t even bother to use whole numbers. A combination of artists you probably never heard of and a few blatantly obvious hipster choices.

And it’s easy to think that counting that they haven’t had a hit in what feels like eternity. And so my recommendation for this week is cover album they released in 2012, Underwater Sunshine (Or what with did this summer).
