Apparently the gaming press has described Aero’s Quest as “Super Meat Boy meets Megaman” Whoever said that statement needs to brush up on their Megaman. Aero’s Quest is nowhere near those two games other than the fact that it’s a “hard” platformer.

I have not played this game on any other formats, or any Hyperdimension game really.. I feel like this game on PC was a bit of a drag to play. And I’m sure it’s much better to play on the Vita just for convenience sake. Having to sit through what seemed like 20 minutes of intros with text and voice overs, there were some short movies but for the most part it was just clicking X to proceed. There were certain bits in the dialogue that are quite good though.
Recently EA announced that 12 women’s national team would be included in their upcoming FIFA 16 and I was excited to hear that announcement. Soccer/Football is my favorite sport and as much as I love to give EA a lot of flack, I’m one of those people who buys their latest iteration of FIFA each year. For EA to place various women’s nationals teams such as United States, Spain, etc. in the game is wonderful. More people would be exposed to the other side of Football that isn’t well covered, but some people aren’t very happy about the recent addition.
Every week we’ll be recommending you a game and an album to check out. This week I’m recommending a country album… we’ll sorta… Southeastern by Jason Isbell and
Hill Climb Racing.
Video games as a medium are a strange and young form of expression. We’re still grappling with ways of engagement and storytelling, constantly moving and shifting our knowledge of how to tell tales. It’s unsurprising that many of our footfalls will be clumsy. Why Am I Dead At Sea is a great example of this- it’s making steps in the right direction, just doing them clumsily.
It’s not a game I didn’t enjoy- certainly, the writing has character, the characters are well written, and I ran into a minimal number of bugs- but it’s a game that consistently frustrated me. Now, I’m not exactly a fan of puzzle games. I usually give up on them as soon as I run into a puzzle that stumps me– if I am not sufficiently drawn in by the other aspects of the game. WAIDAS did the work of making me interested past the awkward puzzle sections, and for that it deserves praise.
I am at a philosophical impasse with Soldner X2. Formally, I cannot fault it. It’s polished, competent, and feature rich by genre standards. There’s a strong use of visual effects, unlockable stages to find, and ranks systems to incentivize replay. In other words, a well made shooter that is designed to encourage repeat sessions. So why do I feel so ambivalent towards it?
