Assault Gunners HD Edition Short Review

  • Assault Gunners HD Edition
  • Developer- SHADE Inc.
  • Publisher- Marvelous
  • PS4, PC

For a while, Assault Gunners HD seemed promising. Mechs feel weighty, guns fire off with heavy feedback that makes even basic weapons feel substantial, and there’s the eternal appeal of collecting parts and building up your machine. But the longer I stayed with it the more the flaws began to dominate the experience and by the end of it Assault Gunners had become a chore.

Short Reviews - The last day of summer

image

By: RJ (@rga_02)

Remember Summer Days
二度ともどらないの
思い出も 今 波が洗い流すわ
Oh I love you
忘れられないけど 冬になったら
別の恋するわ

- from ANRI’s song Summer Days

Maybe I’m just feeling old, or maybe I’m just feeling overly dramatic. At the time of this review I’m only 24-years-old but in two months time I’m going to get a piece of paper saying I’m qualified to write. It will also be the start of summer. Usually summer is the time when I will finally get to relax, but this time it’s when “real life” will start for me.

Vermintide 2 is a compulsively playable den of slaughter

Warhammer has got to have what is personally the most off putting, wretched and boring fantasy worlds put to pen and paper. Everything about it, from the aggressive focus on the ugliness of its world to the aggressively unlikable characters with ridiculous names spouting fake ol’ timey insults really represents everything that I personally dislike about fantasy as a genre. Warhammer: Vermintide II is one of the few games good enough to make me put up with that.

Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online Steam Review

image

By: David (@friendshipguy_)

• Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online
• Developer - IDEA FACTORY, COMPILE HEART, TAMSOFT
• Publisher - Idea Factory International
• PC/Steam
• Rating - T

There are some genuine gems that Idea Factory pushes out from their Neptunia franchise on the regular, though often times the gap between those is filled with titles that don’t quite have as much luster as the others. Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online for PC unfortunately lacks a lot of shine that I’d hope for it to have.

Attempted Review: dreamGEAR Go Gamer Portable 220

By: RJ (@rga_02)

There seems to be another resurgence on all-in-one devices gaming devices lately. Go to your local store and you will see miniature arcade cabinets that contain five or so games. If you happen to find those a tad bit cumbersome and want something in the shape of a Game Boy you are in luck. The company dreamGEAR came out with a cute little device called the Go Gamer Portable 220. Is it worth your purchase though?

Dig Dog Short Review

by Amr (@siegarettes)

  • Dig Dog
  • Developer- Rusty Moyher, Matt Grimm
  • Publisher- Wild Rooster
  • PC, Android, iOS

Sometimes a game can get by on a little bit of charm and simple fun. Dig Dog just about does. It’s a small game from Rusty Moyher and Matt Grimm, who brought us the excellent Retro Game Crunch and Astro Duel. Both of those felt like strong executions on existing concepts, backed by a lot of charm.
